"We are human and we ache for meaning, we ache for a transcendence that reminds us that we are not in isolation, that we are in communion with each other and with the world ... At this moment, I need the novel and film and poetry the most, when it reminds me - hope against hope - that there is also beauty."
Christos Tsiolkas, quoted by Anna Goldsworthy in The Monthly, Dec 24 - Jan 25 Summer Reading Edition.

The news is out 😱
Here’s the ABC News report on my new oratorio for the Adelaide Festival, Watershed: The Death of Dr Duncan.
I’m so extremely excited and honoured to be writing this in collaboration with Director Neil Armfield (Candy, Holding The Man), writers Christos Tsiolkos (The Slap) and Alana Valentine (Parramatta Girls) with the amazing Adelaide Chamber Singers directed by Christie Anderson.
American friends may know Craig Hella Johnson’s work “Considering Matthew Shephard.” Watershed will commemorate the death of Dr Duncan, which tragically remains unsolved, and it will tell our unique Australian story of Queer rights. The story is about injustice, homophobia, violence, police corruption, politics and so much more, but ultimately it’s about love ❤️ 🏳️‍🌈❤️
